Enemy submarine active in vicinity of Jamaica according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 13 April 1942

An item reported that a merchant ship was torpedoed and sunk by an enemy submarine around 280 nautical miles southeast of Jamaica. The J.I.C. commented that this was the frst submarine attack since a while in the Caribbean.
