American ships at Reykjavik, Iceland damaged by passing gale according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 20 January 1942

An item reported that American ships lying in the harbour of Reykjavik, Iceland were damaged in the gale on 15 January. A jammed gate at the entrance prevented ships to go to open water to wait till the gale passed.
