Axis aircraft lying mines in harbour of Benghazi, Libya according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 16 January 1942

An item reported that Axis aircraft laid mines in the harbour of Benghazi, Libya to prevent the British landing supplies. The J.I.C. commented that until now this harbour was of little value because of the devastated condition when it was captured.
