An item reported an anonymous vessel sinking 50 miles south west of Montauk Point the afternoon the day before. Probably due to a submarine attack. Aircraft sighted survivors. Patrolling aircraft south of Montauk and south east of New York of the New Jersey coast sighted enemy submarines active south of the American coastal shipping lanes.
