Part of Tribal-class or Afridi-class (32 planned 27 completed 5 cancelled) preceded by I-class succeeded by J-class. Design based on the so-called Design V small fleet cruiser, which design was also used for the Dido-class light cruisers. Ordered on 19 June 1936. Laid down by William Denny, Dumbarton, Scotland on 13 January 1937, launched on 21 December 1937, completed on15 March 1939 and sunk by Italian cruisers Raimondo Montecuccoli and Eugenio di Savoia and bomber during Operation Harpoon as part of a supply convoy bound for Malta on 15 June 1942.
