Deed of chartering dated 17 March 1663 of the ship Sint Maria dimensions 100 x 23 x 11 feet master Frans Revers owners Michiel van Diest and Arend van der Vorst to keep the ship ready with doubled bow and a sufficient number of guns (gotelingen) for Abraham de Hertoch which was responsible for een crew, fishing equipment and a commandeur to depart with the first opportunity to Greenland for whaling. The ship was to return with fish and oil to Rotterdam and to be unloaded within 16 days. The owners were to be paid 2,675 guilders and the master 5 guilders kaplaken for each cuaght whale.
