Report dealing with the available repair ships, base ships and shipyards in early February 1942 mentioned the Kamerun at Pillau with the same labour capacity as the Huaskaran but just for submarines. Responsible at Pillau for the maintenance of the training submarines in the Baltic. The B.d.U. Marineversorgungstelle at Pillau opined that she was not suitable as Ersatz Kamerun even when personnel was added. Crewed with militarized labourers and depending on shore connections for steam and electricity.
