Portuguese ship Nyassa with troops bound for the Azores in July 1941

In his letter No. 889 dated Lisbon 16 July 1941 reported the German naval attaché in Portugal to the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine at Berlin the departure from Lisbon of the Nyassa on 15 July with 1 batallion infantry with 1 machine gun company (600 men), 1 battery field artillery (150 men), 1 company mountain artillery (150 men) and 1 pioneer company (250 men) to the Azores.
