The British and the Portuguese Navies according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 22 May 1826

London, 17 May. The British frigate Glasgow, commanded by captain Maure, arrived coming from Lisbon where she departed 25 April. At the same time a Portuguese ship of the line [The Dom Joao VI] left the Tagus with a deputation for Brazil, to request the emperor to come back to Europe.

Trieste, 9 May. The British brig Chanteler arrived 23 April at Corfu with the tidings of the fall of Missolunghi. General Ponsonby immediately left with the frigate Nayade towards Missolunghi to do everything impossible concerning humanity.
