The Algerian and French navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 13 September 1827
Paris, 16 September. The merchant ship la Machabée, while waiting for a crewmember, departing later than the fleet of 25 August and so left Marseille unprotected was 3 September off Almeric captured by a small Algerian privateer, but the next day recaptured by the French warship le Cuirassier. The la Machabée arrived at Toulon, while the le Cuirassier immediately pursued the privateer. In the meantime were the 8 Algerians which boarded the la Machabée taken prisoner and brought on board the warship.
