For years was in the Netherlands a magazine published dealing with maritime affairs. It published in 1857 a news item, originally published in the Morshoi Shornik, giving an impression of the naval review at Kronstadt 4th August. According to this item was the navy of Russia in the Baltic consisted of 11 ships of the line, 2 frigates, 9 steam frigates, 1 corvette, 4 schooners, 2 brig, 4 tenders and 75 screw steam gunboats used as floating batteries.
