Body of Venezuelan general Bruzual transported from Willemstad, Curacao to Venezuela according to the Dutch newspaper De Curacaosche courant dated 28 September 1872

An item reported that on Saturday thee 21st body of general Manuel E. Bruzual (10 buried on the protestant cemetery at Pietermaai was transported to and taken board of the Venezuelan schooner of war Bermudez Cousin commanded by Camacho. The cortege was accompanied by officers of the local militia and the Royal Netherlands Navy and Army and citizens. On Sunday morning 0.00 o’clock she left towards La Guayra saluted with so-called minute shots by the Waterfort which was answered when she was outside the harbour.

1. Manuel Ezequiel Bruzual (1832 Santa Marta, Colombia-15 August 1868 Curacao), a Liberal politician, 1864 minister of navy and army and in 1868 designated provisional president and finally died caused by his wounds he suffered in a battle on 14 August during which he was defeated.
