American bark Oregon withdrawn as whaler according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 23 August 1859

An item reported that the bark Oregon of Greenport recently returned from a whaling cruise was sold to captain Albert S. Chase of Fairhaven, Connecticut, USA. He intended to use her a merchant ship between New Haven, USA and the several harbours of the West Indies Islands.
