Austrian screw steam sloop Fasana arrived Batavia, Dutch East Indies coming from Japan according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch Handelsblad dated 5 March 1872

An item dated 4th reported the arrival at Batavia, Dutch East Indies of the Austrian steam warship Fasana captain De Tunk leaving Japan on the 25th. The edition of the 11th reported the departure on the 11th towards the East now calling her Fasona.(1)

Sloop, laid down at the Navala Adriatico, Trieste, Italy on 9 October 1869, launched on 1 September 1870, completed on 5 May 1871, stricken on 7 August 1897, hulked, renamed Gamma as mine storage ship on 7 August 1902, final fate not clear probably broken up in 1920. Armament at the time she visited Batavia 4-15cm guns and 3-7cm guns.
