The execution of the Japanese naval building program according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1915-1916 no. 3

Kawachi-class

Fuso-class

A second item dealing with this program mentioned a budget of more as 108 million Dutch guilders. There were 3-30.000 ton battleships to be built namely the Yamashiro (1) at Yokohama, the Ise (2) at the Kawasaki yard and the Huyuga (3) at the Mitsubishi yard. In this budget were the costs included for the building of 4-1.000 destroyers of which the Urakaze and Kawakazi in England were built, 4 small destroyers and 2-700 ton submarines. The keels of the Ise were on 5th May and the Huyuga on 11 May laid down.

1. Of the Fuso-class with as sister ship the Fuso. Laid down at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal, Japan on 20 November 1913, launched on 3 November 1915, completed on 31 March 1917 and sunk during the battle of Surigao Strait on 25 October 1944. Preceded by the Kawachi-class and succeeded by the Ise-class.
2. Of the Ise-class with as sister ship the Hyuga. Laid down by Kawasaki, Kobe, Japan on 10 May 1915, launched on 2 November 1916, completed on 15 December 1917 and broken up 1946-1947.
3. Of the Ise-class with as sister ship the Ise. Laid down by Mitsubishi, Nagasaki, Japan on 6 May 1915, launched on 27 January 1917, completed on 30 April 1918 and broken up 1946-1947.
