An item reported of the American submarine E 2 which left for the winter manoeuvres on 27 January Cuba towards Galveston, USA since her departure nothing was heard off.(1)

1, Laid down by the Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, Massachusetts, USA on 22 December 1909, launched as USS Sturgeon on 16 June 1911, renamed E-2 on 17 November 1911, commissioned on 14 February 1912 and finally sold to be broken up in 19 April 1922. She returned on 27 July 1914 to the naval station Newport, Rhode Island after cruising in and around the Guantanamo Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.
