An item reported that the Portuguese troop transport Gil Eanos visited the Dutch East Indies harbours Tandjong Priok 10-15 October 1931 and Makassar 26 October 1931.(1)

1. The on 23 February 1916 seized Hanseatic line ship Lahneck which was converted into the auxiliary cruiser Gil Eannes, and since 1927 used as troop transport and hospital ship for the Newfoundland fishery? In 1942 was this ship by the Portuguese navy handed over to the organisation of codfish fishing owners. Launched form the dock at G. Seebeck Act. Es., Geestemünde with yard number 337 on 24 March 1914 and delivered to the Deutsche Dampfschiffahrts-Gesellschaft Hansa at Bremen on 31 May 1914.
