An item reported that the at Dundee, Scotland fitted out screw steam whaler Tay with a cargo capacity of 455 tons had in 1872 as catch results while active in Greenland and Davis Strait 3.350 seals, 7 whales, 406 hectolitres seal oil, 765 hectolitres whale oil, total 1.171 litres oil and 3.750 kilo whalebone.
