Japanese passenger-cargo ship (ex-Kaisho Maru 1918-1938) Kaisyo Maru 1938-1943

Laid down by Osaka Iron Works Ltd., Osaka, Japan in end 1917, launched on 1 April 1918, chartered by the Japanese army between 3 November 1937-end 1938, requisitioned by the Japanese army on 21 July 1941, the Alloted Army Bo. 159, returned to owners in August 1942, again requisitioned by the Japanese army on 9 March 1943 and sunk by the American submarine USS Finback (SS-230) off Cape Atein, south coast of Borneo, Dutch East Indies on 4 August 1943. Call sign JEOD. Gross tonnage 6.070 tons, under deck 5.170 tons, net tonnage 4.417 tons and as dimensions 407.3 x 50.8 x 32.6 feet. Oil fuel bunker capacity 1/253 tons and a range of 17.500 nautical miles with a speed of 10 knots
