Dutch protected cruiser Hr.Ms. Koningin Wilhelmina der Nederlanden 1891-1910

Originally to be built by the Koninklijke Fabriek van Stoom- en andere Werktuigen, Amsterdam, Netherlands but due to bankruptcy laid down by the Navy Yard at Amsterdam on 22 April 1891, launched on 22 October 1892, commissioned on 17 April 1894, decommissioned on 5 March 1910 and sold on 14 October 1910 to Frank Rijsdijk’s Scheepssloperij, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Netherlands to be broken up. Originally to be named Prinses Wilhelmina der Nederlanden but by royal decrete of 3 February 1901 changed in Koningin Wilhelmina der Nederlanden.Apparently was a British design as base used. With a displacement of 4.530 tons and as dimensions 99,8 x 14,91x 6,07 metres or 327.5 x 48.11 x 19.11 feet. Crew numbered 296 men. Her steam engines provided of 4.600 ihp allowing a speed of 15,8 knots. Armament consisted of 1-28cm/11” gun, 1-21cm/8.2” gun, 2x1-17cm/6.7” guns, 4x1-7,6cm/3” guns, 6x1-3,7cm/1pd guns and 4-36cm/14” torpedo guns. The armour consisted of 1-5cm/2” thick deck.
