German motor cargo ships Bamberg and Würzberg under reconstruction for Black Sea service in 1943

A report of the Seeschiffahrtsamt S S8 RIA 2400/43 dated 16 August 1943 reported the conversion of the motor cargo ships Bamberg and Würzberg at the shipyard of Cristof Ruthof, Regensburg, Germany as ordered by the Bayerische Lloyd into seagoing ships with a deadweight of 1.100 tons and to be used on the Black Sea. The conversion of the first ship was to be realized in November 1943 of the second vessel in December 1943-January 1944.
