Belonged to the type 50 frigate-patrol vessel Smelliy or Smeli laid down by shipyard 445 (since 1961 named Kommunara, Nikolaev, Ukraine), laid down with yard number 1134 on 20 November 1954, launched on 15 April 1955, commissioned on 31 December 1955 and decommissioned in 1989. Pennants 16, 12 and SKR-53 (until 15 October 1958). Project 50 guard ships was called by the NATO Riga-class. With a displacement of 1.050 (standard)-1.377 (full load) tons and as dimensions 90.9 x 10.2 x 2.9 metres. Speed 29 knots and a range of 1.000 respectively nautical miles and a speed of 14.4 respectively 29 knots. Main armament 3x1-10cm guns. Crew numbered 168 men.
