British destroyers HMS Walrus and Wryneck sent to the Baltic according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 23 dated 11 December 1920

An item reported that the British destroyers HMS Walrus (1) and Wryneck (2) were underway for Copenhagen, Denmark. While just two destroyers were needed in the Baltic was the departure of the Warwick (3) and Wrestler (4) cancelled.

1. D24. Building ordered in December 1916, laid down by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Govan, Scotland in February 1917, launched on 27 December 1917, completed in 1918, commissioned on 8 March 1918, wrecked on 12 February 1938, sold and broken up in October 1938. Admiralt W-class destroyer, preceded by S-class succeeded by Thornycroft type destroyer leader Ambuscade and Amazon.

2. D21. Building ordered on 16 December 1916, laid down in Palmers, Jarrow in April 1917, launched on 13 May 1918, completed on 11 November 1918 and sunk in a German aircraft attack north of Crete, Greece on 7 April 1941. Admiralty W-class destroyer, preceded by S-class succeeded by Thornycroft type destroyer leader Ambuscade and Amazon.

3. D25. Laid down by Hawthorn Leslie&Company, Hebburn, England on 10 March 1917, launched on 28 December 1917, commissioned on 18 March 1918 and sunk by the German submarine U-143 on 20 February 1944 20 nautical miles southwest of Trevose Head, north Cornwall Atlantic coast. W-class destroyer, preceded by S-class succeeded by Thornycroft type destroyer leader Ambuscade and Amazon.

4. D35. Building ordered on 9 December 1916, laid down by Swan Hunter, Wallsend in July 1917, launched on 25 February 1918, commissioned on 15 May 1918, mined off Juno Beach on 6 June 1944 and sold on 20 July 1944 to be broken up. W-class destroyer, preceded by S-class succeeded by Thornycroft type destroyer leader Ambuscade and Amazon.
