Sister ship Littorio. Original postcard Chocolate La Estrella
An item dated Milan, Italy 20th October reported the planned launching of the Italian 35.000 tons battleship Imperio on the 25th. The edition dated 16 November published an item dated Rome, Italy 15th reporting the launching of the Impero the same morning at Genoa, Italy.(1)

1. Impero, part of Littorio-class battleships preceded by planned Francesco Caracciolo-class and realized Andrea Doria-classs, laid down by Ansaldo, Genoa, Italy on 14 May 1938, launched on 14 November 1939, incomplete seized by the Germans, used as target, sunk during an Allied air attack in February 1945, salvaged in 1947 and broken up between 1940-1950.
