British director of Portuguese naval arsenal at Alfeite retired in October 1940

In his letter dated Lisbon dated 3 November 1940 No. 890 to the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine wrote the German Marineattaché Portugal that according to the newspaper Diario de Noticias, Lisbon dated 30 October 1940 the British admiral Hugill, naval industrial director of the Portuguese naval arsenal at Alfeite left while his contract for 2 years ended. Despite being retired he offered his services to the British cabinet.(1)
