An item reported that 2 Chinese Communist L.C.I.’s were sighted in Shanghai “fitted out with a minelaying port aft and with light rails protruding over the stern on a curved metal framework.” Until now were never L.C.I.’s sen fitted out as a minelayer. A third one was seen fitted out as an anti aircraft version with probable a 1x2-45cm mounting on the forward forecastle, a possible gyro (?) gun abaft but higher, forward and aft on centre castle on both sides 1 probably 2.5cm gun, on the quarter deck on both sides probably 1-2.5cm gun, abreast the bridge on both sides 2 probably 12.7 mm machine guns on both sides leaving the well deck unarmed.
