Transport El Oro of Ecuador 1943->1960’s



Ex-APCc 85 and ex-Cinco de Junio. Her building was ordered on 2 september 1942, laid down 1943 at the shipyard Herreshoff Manufacturing Company, USA on the 29th, launched on 12 March a year later and commissioned on 28 April in the US navy and the same year acquired from the US navy. Able to carry with her 66 men excluded the crew numbering another 25 men. With a displacement of 165 (standard)-258 (full load) tons were her dimensions 98 (waterline)-103¼ (over all) x 21¼ x 9¼ feet. The diesel engine supplied via one shaft 400 bhp allowing a speed of 10 knots.
