Swedish East Indiaman Adolph Fredrik returned from China according to the Dutch newspaper Hollandsche historische courant dated 16 June 1781

An item reported the arrival at Douvres [Dover, England?]of the Swedish East Indiaman Adolph Fredrik captain K. Hierna underway from China towards Gotenborg, Sweden. She left Canton, China in December 1781 where at that moment were lying 12 British East Indiaman and among other ships also 4 Dutch East Indiamen which intended to depart in January 1781 towards Europe.

Sweden-flagged, IMO 8646678, MMSI 266198000 and call sign SLOA. Original sank off Gothenburg, Sweden on 12 September 1745 and her wrecked was discovered in 1984. Laid down at the Terra Nova shipyard, Gothenburg, Sweden on 11 June 1895, launched on 6 June 1903, baptized by queen Silvia on 3 September 2004, commissioned on 6 August 2005 with her maiden voyage starting on 18 April 2005. Deadweight 166 tons, gross tonnage 788 tons and as dimensions 40,55 (between perpendiculars)-40,9 (over all)-58 (including bowsprit) x 11 x 4,95 (draught) x 6,75 (hold) metres or 133.0-134.2-190.3 x 36.1 x 16.3 x 22.2 feet. 3-Decked. Full rigged with a sail area of 1.964 square metres/21.140 square feet and as auxiliary machinery 2-550hp Volvo Penta 103 diesels. Crew numbers 80 men including 60 volunteers. Armament consist of 10 long guns. 

Swedish East Indies Company forced to pay her government a huge amount of money according to the Dutch newspaper Amsterdamse courant dated 24 December 1765

An item dated Stockholm, Sweden 6th reported that when the Swedish East India company received her patent in 1746 one of the conditions was that she would pay the crown 50.000 daalders for each ship safely returned at home. Until 1752 this payment was indeed done when she made clear that considered the huge decrease of her trading she could not afford such payment. She was released from payment, the assets were collected in a steady fund and furthermore the company promised to transport all needed raw material from the Indies with her ships. Despite the agreement asked the government that she would pay before the end of 1765 4,5 tons of gold. This would the last time promised the government and the company would enjoy in the future all benefits of her patent.

Swedish crown promoted directors of the Swedish East India Company according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 4 January 1774

According to a tiding dated Stockholm 11 December 1773 gave the Swedish crown the present directors (‘bewindhebbers’) of the East Indies Company the title of Commerce Councils.

Swedish East Company had exclusive rights on import Asian stores according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 16 December 1777

According to an item dated Stockholm 24 November was in the patent given to the Swedish East India Company set that only the company was allowed with her ships to import stores from the East Indies. The city Marstrand now a freeport granted by the Porte Franco rights claimed to be excluded from that regulation but he crown made clear that this wasn’t the truth.

Swedish East India Company decided not to sent any ships towards China according to the Dutch newspaper Groninger Courant dated 16 January 1789
