Royal British Navy choose for American Curtis turbines as machinery for cruiser according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1909-1910 no. 3

An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau reporting that the Royal British Navy choose to fit out one of the 5 new cruisers with the American Curtiss turbines while at the other hand the US Navy choose to fit out all new ships that year with the British Parsons turbines.

Reintroduction coal as fuel in Royal British Navy caused new bunker fuel capacity according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1909-1910 no. 3

An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau reporting that the reintroduction of coal as fuel for the new British destroyers caused the decrease from 6 to 4 fuel oil tanks to be built at Turnchapel and the enlargement of the coal stores.
