Deed of bottomry for the Dutch Greenland whaler Maeslantsluis in 1662

Deed of bottomry dated 10 June 1662 in which burgomaster of Maassluis Franchis Denick owner of the ship Maeslantsluis of 130 lasten stated to be indebted to merchant Lopo Ramieres of Rotterdam 3,000 guilders. The ship commandeur Burger Pauwelsz went to Greenland. In the deed dated 10 June 16552 No. 285 called Maeslant.

Dutch Davis Strait commandeur Barent Kooper returned home according to the Dutch newspaper Amsterdamse courant dated 28 August 1727

 

An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 27 August reported the arrival on the Maas of the Davis Strait commandeur Barent Koper 0,5 whale 40 quardelen. (1)

1. Barent Kooper, commandeur between 1726-1727 for Jacobus van der Kaden, Maassluis, Netherlands 0,5 whale 25 barrels blubber. Alphabetische naam-lyst van alle de Groenlandsche en Straat-Davidsche Commandeurs die sedert het jaar 1700 op Groenland en sedert het jaar 1719 op de Straat Davis etc. Gerret van Sant.
