An item reported that the Dutch towing company L. Smit&Co.’s Internationale Sleepdienst, Rotterdam, Netherlands was not interested in towing Liberty and Victory ships from to the USA to scrapyards in Europe and Japan regarded the price ratios on the towing market.

An item reported that during a storm at Cape of Good Hope 14 ships were lost including the British Waterloo master Ager from London underway to Diemensland with on board excluded the crew 240 convicts , 30 soldiers and some women and children of which 250 were drowned.
