Australian bulk carrier Lake Barring launched according to the Australia Station Intelligence Summary dated 1 February 1956

An item reported the launching of the 10,000 tons bulk carrier Lake Barrine by Evans Deakin&Co. Ltd., Brisbane, Australia for account of the Australian Shipping Board on 16 December 1955. It was believed that she would be completed by the first half of 1956. She was the first of the four of the Lake-class to be built for the Board, the second one was the Lake Colac.(1)

1. Converted into a offshore drilling supply annex survey vessel after October 1972, Renamed 1973 Regional Enterprise and in 1981 Lacondon, broken up in 1982. IMO 5202483.

As Britoil Power Singapore-flagged, IMO 9678769, call sign 9V2009, owners/manager Britoil Offshore Services, Singapore. Built by Britoil Indonesia, Batam, Indonesia in 2015. In 2020 Nigeria and Marshall Islands flagged, the latter again in 2022-2023.

Called a tug, supply vessel, multi-purpose drilling vessel and anchor handling tug supply. Ex-Normand Draupne renamed May 2015. Gross tonnage 3.385 tons, net tonnage 1.009 tons, lightship 3.032 tons and as dimensions 73,85 (between perpendiculars)-83,45 (over all) x 18,01 (extreme) x 7,95 (depth) x 5,57 (draught) metres. Laid down by Ulstein Hatlo A/S, Ulsteinvik, Norway with yard number 192 on 3 September 1984, launched on 11 March 1985, completed on 13 June 1985 and converted in 2015. Norway-flagged, 1985-2015, homeport Skudeneshavn and call sign LNZJ3. Owned as Omalius by G-tec s.a.&G-tec Offshore c.a., Milmort, Belgium and managed by Eco Shipping NV, Oostende, Belgium.

As the anchor handling vessel Norman Draupne owned and managed by Solstad Rederi, Skudeneshavn, Norway, Norway International Register-flagged, homeport Skudeneshavn, call sign LNZJ and MMSI 25834400. Built by Hatlo Verksted, Ulsteinvik, Norway in 1985. Sold to G-tec in 2015 and converted into the drilling vessel Omalius.
