United States ordering building of torpedo boats according to the Dutch newspaper Het Vaderland: staat- en letterkundig nieuwsblad daily edition dated 10 December 1939

According to a tiding coming from Washington ordered the Navy Department the building of 23 torpedo boats total building costs 5.000.000 dollar. The boats were destined for patrol duties to maintain the American neutrality.
