British and French warships disputing dealing with the quarantine according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 13 September 1825

Cadiz, 19 August. Just what happened some time ago with the from Tangier coming British frigate Active were again problems between a British warships and the French brig responsible for the health care. The British brig arrived 17 August coming from Falmouth with post for Cadiz and was warned by the French brig with a gunshot using just powder. The British brig sailed one despite a second gunshot and the French were forced to shoot with sharp. The British send a sloop to the l’Amazone but after the return of the sloop she returned to open sea. The next day with a parliament flag hoisted the British brig returned and entered the harbour without any protest of the French squadron, landed her passengers and post and departed again.
