German bark Ella Nicolai thrown part of her cargo overboard in a storm in the British Channel underway towards Hong Kong according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 4 April 1888

An item reported that the German bark Ella Nicolai captain Meisterfeld underway from London, England towards Hong Kong fully loaded with concrete a day earlier reported that she on 8th December 1887 when leaving the Channel was harassed by a heavy north west storm destroying everything on deck and causing her to throw 200 barrels with concrete over board.
