An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht dated 29 May 1937 reporting that the British Imperial Defence Commission at that moment gathered in a meeting was discussing the creation of an Eastern Fleet stationed at Singapore consisting of 15 battleships, 2 squadrons cruisers and 3 flotillas destroyers.
