Of the admiralty Maze, also called cutter brig, bought 1784 and
condemned >1788-1794<, dimensions 93 x 31 7/11 x 11½ feet and an armament
of 14-22 guns.Other sources claimed built at navy yard at Rotterdam in 1784 or the
former British brigantine Lion . Possible several ships with the same name.
Commanding officers 1784-7 May 1785 J.A. van Grootenra(a)y, 7 May
1785-22 September 1786 C. de Jong, 22 September 1786-June 1788 J.A. van
Grootenra(a)y, voyage to the Mediterranean and part of squadron commanded by
captain F.S. graaf van Bylandt, 9 August 1792 departed for the Mediterranean
and on 31 January 1793 returned at Vlissingen, Netherlands.
