German Greenland whalers returning at Hamburg, Greenland according to the Dutch newspaper according to the Dutch newspaper ’s Gravenhaegse courant dated 14 July 1749

An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 12 July reported the arrival at Hamburg, Germany of J. Strets with 50 quardelen and Michiel Jaspers and Pieter Jurgens each with 100 quardelen seal blubber, all returning from Greenland. Jurgens remarked that Klaes Keuke caught 9 whales 300 quadelen, Pieter Groen 8 whales 290 quardelen and Dirk Driewezen 4 whales and further more a list adding the catch results with 80 whales.
