An item reported the departure of the British battleship HMS Monarch on 22 July from Portsmouth, England bound for a visit at Gibraltar between 26-27 July and 9-10 August, Malta between 30 July-6 August, Devonport on 14 August returning at Portsmouth on 15 August.(1)

Of the Orion-class dreadnoughts, preceded by Colossus-class, succeeded by King George V-class, laid down by Armstrong Whitworth, Elswick, England on 1 April 1910, launched on 30 March 1911, commissioned on 27 April 1912, decommissioned on 5 May 1822, stricken on October 1923 and sunk when used as a target on 21 January 1925.
