Fate of the Russian Volunteer Caspian Fleet based at Petrovsk still undecided according to the Secret Admiralty Weekly Intelligence Summary Nr. 63 for the week ending 28 February 1920

An item reported that the situation in the Caspian Sea area did not change and was still critical. The fate of the Volunteer Caspian Fleet based at Petrovsk was still undecided and threatened to be captured by the Bolsheviks. General Denikin proposed to transfer the fleet to Enzeli, North Persia but this could only be allowed if the fleet was interned and the Russian crews repatriated. The Bolshviks claimed in the meantime that the fleet chose their side but this was not confirmed. The British Mission requested the fleet to transport the Ural Volunteer Army and refugees from Guriev [Guryev, nowadays Aytrau, Kazakhstan] via Petrovsk to Novorossisk.
