An item reported the departure of the British cruiser HMS Calcutta 23 July from Portsmouth, England bound for Bermuda.(1)

Note

1. C-class light cruisers Carlisle-subclass, preceded by Arethusa-class, succeeded by Danae-class, laid down by Vickers Limited, Barrow-in-Furness, England on 18 October 1917, launched on 9 July 1918, commissioned on 28 August1919, converted into an anti-aircraft cruiser in 1939 and sunk in a German air attack off Alexandria, Egypt on 1 June 1941.
