US Atlantic Fleet ready for gunnery and torpedo exercises according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 43 dated 29 October 1921

An item reported that the battleships and a destroyer flotilla of the US Atlantic Fleet numbering around 18 units excluded auxiliaries were to arrive in the Guacanayabo Bay, Cuba on 9 January 1922, to execute complete gunnery and torpedo exercises and on 27 January depart to Baboe Canal Zone, renamed at Panama until 22 April and then return to their homeports for leave. During their stay at Panama they were to exercise with the US Pacific Fleet on strategic and gunnery exercises and for the inter-Fleet Athletic competitions for officers and sailors.
