Dutch towing company N.V. Wijsmuller towing former American Liberty ships towards scrapyards according to the Dutch newspaper Trouw dated 31 August 1960

An item reported that the Dutch towing company N.V. Wijsmuller, IJmuiden, Netherlands received a huge order. Ten Liberty ships were to be towed from the USA to scrapyards in Japan, Italy, Spain and England to be broken up. The tugs to be involved were the Noord-Holland, Utrecht, Titan, Friesland and Cycloop. The Titan started on 6 August at Wilmington, USA with towing a 7,000 tons Liberty ship to England. The USA started with selling more as 1,000 Liberty and Victory ships from her mothball fleet.
