Shrimp cannery at Malpe, Mangalore, India operational according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated January 1960 no. 1

An item reported that the small shrimp cannery in the small fishing port of Malpe, Mangalore, India started to operate in the fall of  1959. The equipment was designed and locally built by the manager who was a fisheries engineer educated in the USA. Capacity 3,000 cans/8 hour working day. The plant was the second of her kind active in India. Cans were exported to the USA.
