Russian icebreakers support in White Sea limited according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 31 January 1942

An item reported that the Russian icebreaker Stalin in December 1941 was damaged by bombs and repairs needed 2-6 weeks. The icebreakers Lenin and Litke were limited to escort outbound shipping from Archangel and Molotovsk to open water. Shipping entering the White Sea in this period was not to be expected.
