Constantinople, 8 August. The Ottoman government officially announced that England the two battleships Sultan Osman and Reschadieh which were laid down for Turkish account and two destroyers of 1,850 tons originally destined for Chile but bought by Turkey were seized and transferred to the Royal British Navy. The battleships were renamed Agincourt and Erin. Turkey protested severely against the British procedure.
