Guist’hau appointed as French minister of navy according to the Dutch newspaper Limburger koerier dated 29 January 1921

An item reported that Guisth’au accepted the post of minister of navy in the cabinet Briand. Being no expert in naval affairs he choose some people to work him consisting of a young lady, a non-commissioned deputy prefect, two inspectors of the postal services, a clerk editor of the prefecture of the Seine department and an applicant rights. The journalist wrote next that it would be a nice fleet in the future!

Note
1. This was the seventh cabinet with Aristide Briand as premier. Gabriel Guist’hau (22 September 1863 Saint-Pierre, Réunion-27 November 1931 Nantes) was minister of navy between 16 January 1921 and 15 January 1922. Although the Dutch journalist was not really assured that it would be a success seems Guist’hau to have been important for the rebuilding of the French navy after the First World War.
