Chilean cabinet desperate seeking for tenders for building cruisers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1938 no. 6

An item referred to the magazine Sch. dated 1 September 1938 which reported that as a result of the building of warships of such a large scale the Chilean cabinet hardly got tenders for building 2-8.000 ton cruisers. Negotiations with British, Japanese ad Italian shipyards were not successful and according to another magazine the Le Yacht dated 6 August 1938 were only Dutch and Finnish shipyards interested.
