Launching and keels laid down at Rotterdam of Dutch merchant steamboats Admiraal Kinsbergen and Batavier according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 14 May 1838

The newspaper Rotterdamsche Courant reported the launching of the steamboat Admiraal Kinsbergen 10 May at the yard of the Nederlandsche Stoomboot-Maatschappij at Fijenoord destined for service at the Zuiderzee (nowadays called IJsselmeer) traject Amsterdam-Kampen. The same day was the keel laid down of the sea steamboat Batavier of the same size. From Dordrecht arrived tidings that since Sunday [=13 May] the by C. Gips en Zonen newly built steamboat Koning der Nederlanden was taken into service between Dordrecht and Rotterdam.
