The Egyptian and Turkish navies in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 18 October 1824

Paris, 13 October. The Egyptian fleet was harassed severely by an ill-natured disease (scorbus?) which could be compared with the plague. The pasha of Silistria arrived anonymous in the evening of 12 September at Constantinople and hides the whole day of the 13th in the arsenal. Ghalib pasha was the day before his dismissal still at the channel with the Aga pasha.
